Differences Between the Series of Santa Fe Dehumidifiers
Aside from the weight and noise levels, there are more important differences in the Santa Fe dehumidifier series:
- Advance Series: It boasts dual exhaust vents that improve airflow and reduce your operating costs. The advanced series can remove up to 90 pints/day across up to 3,000 sq ft. of crawl space.
- Compact Series: It is designed to operate under low temperatures and proper airflow. Although small in stature as the name implies, its performance is impressive. The compact series removes about 70 pints/day across crawl spaces and basements around 2,500 sq ft.
- Classic Series: This high-capacity blower removes 110 pints/day in basements of almost 3,000 sq ft.
- Ultra Series: It is engineered to fit in tight, low-clearance applications. You can tie the unit into a forced-air duct system.
- MD33: This is the first true in-wall dehumidifier. It drains directly into a hub drain, which means that there is no need for hands-on operation. It removes about 33 pints of water a day for spaces up to 1,200 sq ft.
Who’s Santa Fe Dehumidifier For?
Santa Fe dehums are for anyone who needs a more comfortable space with clean, pure, and safe air. But let us put this into perspective:
- Better health: Dust mites and molds play a huge role in causing and worsening allergic ailments. All the coughing, sneezing, runny nose, itchy/watery eyes, and asthma attacks can be reduced with a Santa Fe dehum.
- Property protection: Prolonged exposure to moisture causes structural damage to properties. From wood rot to a breeding ground for pets, it is a slippery slope, which you can avoid with a Santa Fe dehum.
- Energy-saving: Traditional dehums consume a lot more energy to keep your moisture levels down. This comes with huge cost implications and bills. Santa Fe dehums provide an energy-efficient alternative.
- Tax credits: You may be lucky to get tax credits and rebates with a Santa Fe dehum in your home.
Is It the Best Fit for The Car Garage?
Because Santa Fe dehums are commercial-grade, it is easy to see why these dehumidifiers are great for your car garage and the entire home. Unsuppressed mold growth eventually leads to costly remediation projects, which your insurance policy might not cover.
Many Santa Fe dehumidifier reviews explain why they are the best fit for your car garage. They protect your floors, artworks, furniture, electronics, and the entire structure of your garage.

Really efficient
Living in Jackson, MS means you have to experience humidity levels as high as 90%. We purchased a 3000 sq foot house but quickly discovered that we had moisture problems in the crawl space. This was despite the vapor barrier there. The first product we tried from a local home store did not work and we were advised to get a commercial unit. A friend recommended the Santa Fe Advance90.
Admittedly, we were skeptical at first because it was quite pricey and we weren’t sure its 90pints/day rating was enough to do the job. So, we spent some time doing some research on Sylvane’s website to check out capacity ratings and discovered that the Advance90 has a 180-pint capacity at full saturation. We got the unit installed, which by the way was easy.
The dehum has been working pretty well even on days when the temperature is over 100˚+. The unit is really efficient with or without the vents configured. One of the best purchase decisions I’ve made recently.
Not bad at all
I still managed to get impressed with this model for someone who already has a Santa Fe dehumidifier installed in my home. I’ve had no problems with the compact model for my crawlspace in two years but I needed one for my basement area, which is about 2,000 sq ft. I’m particularly impressed with this model because it doesn’t need to run all day to keep the humidity levels down.
With my remote humidity monitor, I can track the levels. The whole process is convenient and quite simple. The air quality down there is already a whole lot better. You might want to seal and insulate and space you are using.
Fresh air
Having had terrible mold and moisture problems in my previous house, I was so intentional about dealing with these problems after getting a new home. The 70-pint dehum ran all day and still couldn’t keep the basement’s humidity around 40%.
With the Advance90, it’s problem solved. I also love the fact that the fan turns off to lower power use and noise. I had no issues with the purchase from Sylvane as well. The dehum arrived on time and without any glitches.
